Where to Dine in Reno Tahoe This New Year’s Eve
What better way to ring in 2017 than with family, friends and delicious food? Reno Tahoe’s love for New Year’s celebrations means you can indulge your palate before the new year arrives at some of the best restaurants in town. Check out a few of the exceptional dining options you can choose from.
Three-course holiday dinners are available at Purple Parrot and Manhattan Deli, starting at 11:00 a.m. Savor rib eye steak and Maine lobster tails, accompanied by seasonal vegetables and served with a choice of soup or salad. Enjoy fine dining options with four-course meals at Atlantis Steakhouse and Bistro Napa, beginning at 5:00 p.m. Try the crab-crusted New Zealand ora king salmon, or the filet mignon and jumbo Maine lobster duet. A buffet dining option is the newly designed Toucan Charlie’s, offering a champagne dinner from 4:30 – 9:00 p.m. The special New Year’s Eve menu includes bacon-wrapped filet, lobster ravioli with cognac cream sauce, potato crusted Alaskan salmon with caviar beurre blanc, and so much more! The Oceano’s New Year’s Eve menu will feature fresh seafood from 4:00 – 9:30 p.m. Enjoy mixed greens salad or Maine lobster bisque, poached Chilean sea bass or grilled rib eye steak, and chocolate-covered champagne strawberry mousse cake for dessert. Café Milano will have grilled New York sirloin and scampi-style shrimp, with a side of mashed potatoes and winter garden vegetables, with New York cheesecake for the sweet course. At the Bimini Steakhouse, pair your favorite wine with a mouthwatering three-course meal featuring lump crab cake, porcini-crusted filet mignon, and pan-roasted Chilean sea bass.
Enjoy a three-course meal at Pearl Oyster Bar and Grill or Cafè Central. The first course consists of heirloom orange cauliflower bisque, herb roasted prime rib of beef and garlic prawns for the entrée, and champagne strawberry mousse cake topped with pink chocolate confetti for dessert. For a four-course meal, visit Sterlings Seafood Steakhouse where you can enjoy seared, hand-harvested sea scallops, forest mushroom soup or baby arugula and kale salad, Certified Angus (CAB) filet of beef, and cold-water lobster tail. Save room for the chocolate dome dessert to top off the evening.
Enjoy a hassle free New Year’s Eve dinner at one of the restaurants in Restaurant Row. There will be five different restaurants to choose from between 5:00 – 11:00 p.m. Enjoy a three-course dinner, made with French technique, at Charlie Palmer Steak, savor the ambiance of a Roman-style meal at Briscola, or treat your taste buds to one of the many signature dishes available at Rim, a bistro-style Asian restaurant. For tequila-lovers, settle in at Cantina for traditional favorites like tacos, enchiladas and chili rellenos, along with their 115 different tequilas available to ring in the new year with a shot…or two. For something more casual, the Grand Café will have your choice of soup or salad, stir-fry whole garlic lobster, coconut rice stir-fry vegetable or bone-in, 28-day aged filet mignon. If you’re looking for a wide variety of flavors, try The Grand Buffet, serving a New Year champagne dinner from 4:30 – 10:00 p.m., and a New Year Brunch on Sunday, January 1 from 10:00 a.m. – 2:30 p.m.

Take pleasure in a New Year’s Eve buffet at Americana Café from 4:00 p.m. until closing. There will be a carving station with cherry wood-smoked beef brisket, and fig- and orange-glazed ham. Rotisserie chicken, whipped potatoes, mushroom ravioli, capellini pasta, beef stroganoff and more will also be available, as well as two different desserts – panna cotta and New York cheesecake bites. The Steakhouse at Circus will have a choice of soup or salad to start, four different entreè options and sides, including mixed vegetables, sautéed asparagus, dauphinoise potatoes and mushroom risotto. Chocolate lava cake will be for dessert.
Pair a wine with a three course meal at Roxy where they will serve sunchoke bisque, petite rack of veal as the main course, and for dessert, you’re sure to love the champagne white chocolate mousse. La Strada offers an Italian four-course meal including salad, risotto “lake como style” and lasagnette for the first course, followed by pan-seared scallops and veal for the second course, and cheesecake gelato with fresh berry compote for those who still have room for something sweet. The Prime Rib Grill will have fillet mignon and half lobster, scampi style, with a choice of soup or salad, and triple chocolate mousse layered in a martini glass. Try The Buffet for a wide variety of American, Italian, Mexican and Chinese cuisine. Dinner starts a 4:00 p.m. at The Buffet and at 5:00 p.m. at the other restaurants.
