St. Patrick’s Day Events in Reno Tahoe
With St. Patrick’s Day falling on a weekday this year, get in the shamrock spirit early with many of the events happening this upcoming weekend! You will be green with envy if you miss out on any of the fun this weekend in Reno Tahoe.
Rocky Mountain Oyster Fry and St. Patrick’s Day Parade
Have a ball (or two!) in historic Virginia City at the annual Rocky Mountain Oyster Fry and St. Patrick’s Day Parade! No actual oysters are consumed… this unique eating festival features beef and sheep testicles. Yum? Try ’em fried, grilled and smoked! More than 20 cooks prepare these delicacies in every way you can imagine. Starting at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 11, you can enjoy their beer garden, live Irish music, parade and Leprechaun Bar Crawl at Virginia City’s old-timey saloons and restaurants.
Reno Leprechaun Race
The 5th Annual Leprechaun Race is a 5K run and walk the entire family can enjoy! Run through two of Reno’s historic neighborhoods – MidTown and Wells Districts – and win a special prize if you beat the green leprechaun! Grab your green and register here. There’s no race day registration so plan ahead. May the luck of the Irish be with you!
See Green at a Pro Soccer Game
See green this weekend on the soccer field in downtown Reno at the match between Reno 1868 FC and Sacramento Republic FC. This is the inaugural season for the Reno 1868 FC, the Biggest Little City’s first professional soccer team. Kickoff is at 4:00 p.m. at Greater Nevada Field, just a few blocks from the famous Reno Arch. Get more info on the event here.
Reno Leprechaun Crawl
It simply isn’t a holiday in Reno Tahoe without a bar crawl taking over the streets of downtown. Join the best Irish celebration this side of the Emerald Isle at the 5th Annual Reno Leprechaun Crawl. Beginning at 8:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 11 you can paint the town green with 8,000+ costumed crawlers and fill your pot (or crawl cup, in this case) of gold at the hottest night clubs, bars and restaurants in the Biggest Little City.
