Cultural Events

Reno Celtic Celebration: Celebrate Celtic tradition during the two-day festival. Scottish and Irish dancers, Celtic musicians, Highland games, children’s activities, hearty food and Celtic merchandise are in abundance for event-goers. Event takes place October 1-2, 2016 at Bartley Ranch Regional Park.

Eldorado Great Italian Festival: Eldorado Casino Resort hosts this giant celebration of Italian traditions with activities like grape stomp, sauce cookers competition, an Italian farmer’s market,  Italian Buffet, vendors and  live entertainment. Event takes place October 8-9, 2016 in downtown Reno.

Argenta Concert Series: Pianist Wu Han, violinist Philip Setzer and cellist David Finckel will delight the audience with works by Dvořak and Schubert. The award-winning musicians have plenty of experience collaborating to put on an unbelievable performance. Event takes place October 6, 2016 at Nightingale Concert Hall.

Performing Art Series: Experience Music of the Scottish Isles performed by Gaelic singer Julie Fowlis. Award-winning and credited for the theme song of Disney Pixar’s Brave, her musical talents beg to be seen live. Concert takes place October 13, 2016 at Nightingale Concert Hall.

Myth and Romance: The Reno Chamber Orchestra brings another outstanding musician for audiences to enjoy. Conductor Theodore Kuchar will be leading violinist Bella Hristova for a special two-night performance. Concert takes place October 15-16, 2016 at Nightingale Concert Hall.

Honey Baby: Artists Janine Antoni & Stephen Petronio collaborate for this visually engaging piece. A video of a tumbling body in a honey-filled environment attempts to invoke physical intensity, unleashing visceral and emotional responses through collaborative work. Exhibit will run from September 15-October 22, 2016.

Tarek Al GhousseinThe Nevada Museum of Art hosts photographer Tarek Al-Ghoussein. The exhibition features twelve photographic prints from two of the artist’s series, both focused on his experience in Kuwait, his native country. The exhibition will run from October 7, 2016-February 19, 2017.

Reno Instagrammys: Enjoy a glamorous night out during the awards ceremony which celebrates Instagram submissions depicting the uniqueness, inspirational and beautiful pieces of our area. Tickets are available for the awards ceremony taking place at the Pioneer Center and access to the after party held at Cargo Concert Hall. Event takes place October 8, 2016.
