Beer NV

With more than 60 beers on tap, as well as a great craft cocktail menu, Beer NV has quickly become a must-visit spot in South Reno with great drinks and a lively atmosphere. Although they don’t serve food, they’re conveniently located near several great restaurants, making them perfect for pre-dinner drinks or a nightcap.

Miguel’s Mexican Resturant

First established in 1959, Miguel’s Mexican Restaurant has long been known as a local landmark in MidTown, but now has a new location in South Reno that is just as delicious. Miguel’s offers a wide variety of dishes from classic enchiladas to shrimp and octopus salad. Of course, no meal at Miguel’s is complete with one of their famous margaritas!

South Creek Center

Locally-owned and locally-loved! South Creek Center features shops, boutiques, cafes and more. The shopping center features many outdoor patios which are perfectly suited for Reno’s year-round sunshine and moderate temperatures. Need a caffeine or gelato fix? Check out Bibo Coffee. If you need to satisfy your sweet tooth, stop into Dorinda’s Chocolates for award-winning chocolates or ice cream by Rolled Mountain Creamery. Looking for an artful souvenir? La Galleria features gifts, decor, jewelry and more for that evoke the Reno Tahoe area.

The Summit

Shopping, dining, entertainment… and gorgeous views at the base of Mount Rose. The Summit shopping center features a mix of well-known department stores and locally-owned shops, as well as summertime farmers markets, movie theater and a variety of year-round events.

See & Do

Galena Creek Regional Park

With hiking and biking trails, as well as snowshoeing and sledding in the winter, Galena Creek Regional Park is a great spot to visit any time of year. The park is located on Mt. Rose Hwy and offers several scenic picnic spots and plenty of parking. Stop into the Visitor Center to learn about the Reno Tahoe forests and see their impressive wildlife displays.

Wild Horses on Geiger Grade

Nevada is home to almost half of the nation’s free-roaming wild horses. It’s easy to spot some of the historic Virginia Range herd, over 1,400 strong, by driving on State Route 341 between South Reno and historic Virginia City. Stop to take photos of these beautiful animals in their natural environment, as well as take in the stunning panoramic view of the Reno area nestled at the bottom of the Sierra Nevada.
