Mark Your Calendars : Exciting Events Coming to Reno in 2017

Are you in the mood to rock out? Or maybe you’d rather find yourself belly-laughing in the aisles? Either way, you’re going to love the shows coming to the Reno Events Center in February.

On Thursday, February 23, multi-platinum selling artist, Stevie Nicks, brings her 24 Karat Gold Tour to Reno, with special guest, The Pretenders. Nicks has been called the “reigning queen of rock ‘n’ roll” by Rolling Stone magazine, and has performed in front of sold-out crowds around the world during her time with Fleetwood Mac, and as a solo artist. You won’t want to miss the opportunity to sing along to your favorite hits during this incredible show.

ChrisRock2Comedian Chris Rock will entertain the crowd with his distinct brand of humor at the Reno Events Center on Friday, February 24. The title ‘comedian’ doesn’t really begin to describe Rock – he’s also an actor, writer, producer and director. His career has earned him four Emmy Awards and three Grammy Awards, as well as a spot on the New York Times Best-Seller list. From movies to television, and now live on stage right here in Reno, don’t pass up the chance to see this acclaimed comedian.

Fan Favorites

The weather may be cool, but the sports action is heating up in Reno this winter and spring! In addition to the Reno Bighorns, Nevada Wolf Pack and Reno Aces, the area is excited to welcome both the Big Sky Conference Basketball Championships and the USL affiliate soccer team, Reno 1868 FC.

For the second year, the Big Sky Conference will bring their men’s and women’s tournament action to the Reno Events Center, March 6-11. Watch as teams face off throughout the week to vie for the title of champion, and a berth in the NCAA Basketball Tournament. Experience fast-paced action, buzzer-beaters, and perhaps an upset or two during this year’s tournament. Single-game and all-session tickets are on sale now; or make a week of it with one of the many downtown Reno hotel packages available.

Soccer makes its debut at Greater Nevada Field on Saturday, February 18, when the Reno 1868 FC face off against the San Jose Earthquakes. Not only will this mark the beginning of the Reno 1868 FC’s inaugural season, but it is also the first time a major league team from any sport will play in Reno. Fans can expect a season filled with high-energy play, February through September.
