Learn to Ski & Ride in Reno Tahoe
January is “Learn to Ski and Snowboard Month” so if you’ve never been on the snow before and would like to discover a new hobby in Reno Tahoe, this is your guide. Check out these six ski resorts with learn to ski and snowboard programs tailored to develop your skills and help you start your journey to conquering the slopes!
All beginner ski and ride packages include a lift ticket to a designated beginner area, rental equipment and a group lesson with professional staff. Lesson times run from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. First Time packages are as low as $135 with an advanced online purchase.
For those who need help refreshing basic skills and developing technique, Next Step Packages are also available.

Tahoe Donner is honoring “Learn to Ski and Snowboard Month” with discounted programs. First-timer packages are offered January 9-13 and January 17-20 for only $39. These deals include an all-day lift ticket and rental equipment.
Bring a friend and learn to ski for the price of one on any midweek, non-holiday day throughout January for only $89. The package includes a one-hour private lesson with all-day trail passes and rentals.
Every Friday in January, from 10:00-11:30 a.m., seniors have the chance to learn how to cross country ski in a four-week program.
All offers are for first-timers only.
Learn to ski and ride packages for children and adults are being offered for only $39 from January 9-13. Lift tickets and equipment rentals are included in all packages and no advance reservations is required, but space is limited so don’t wait to take advantage of this great deal!
With a wide variety of ski and snowboard programs, learning your way through the snow will be easy at Northstar. A learn to ski and snowboard package at Squaw Valley Alpine Meadows includes access to a designated beginner zone, lift ticket and equipment rental for first timers. You will have unlimited access to lessons at Alpine Meadows throughout the winter season and learn skills to conquer all types of terrain on your own. One-on-one attention can be added to your lesson. Rates and packages do vary depending on your needs so visit their First Time & Beginner Programs page to choose which package is best for you.
