Lace Up for These Upcoming Runs in Reno Tahoe
After hibernating during the cold winter months, put that stored energy to use and run with friends, family and others who love to experience beauty of Reno Tahoe. The surrounding area is known for outdoor activities, so find the perfect run (or runs!) for you, put together matching costumes with some friends and get outside. There are runs for all levels from 5K fun runs to the 178-mile Reno-Tahoe Odyssey.
Start under the Reno Arch during the second annual Reno’s Biggest Little Half Marathon! On March 25th, 2017 runners will traverse MidTown, beautiful parks and local communities while running in a half marathon, 10K or 5K.
Compete in the upbeat Downtown River Run Half Marathon, 10K, 5K. Give it your all and embrace your healthy lifestyle while running through downtown Reno and along the Truckee River.
What is better than time spent with mom? On Sunday, May 14th, enjoy a continental breakfast at the 17th Annual Moms Run. You will not want to miss this favorite annual run, so grab your mom and have an unforgettable time.
Challenge yourself at the Silver State 50K, 50-Miler and Trail Half Marathon. On May 20th, run the rugged terrain up and down Peavine Mountain. Runners will be tested with varied terrain including gravel, meadows and a combination of rocky and slippery roads but rewarded with gorgeous views of Reno and Sparks. In the two longer distances, there will be a 9,200 feet of elevation change. Good luck!
Run around the Reno Tahoe region in a 178-mile loop divided into 36 segments during the Reno-Tahoe Odyssey. This race is the first weekend of June and is designed to be done in teams of six to 12 people. With such high popularity it is capped at 3,000 runners so get your team together and start training today.
Somewhere in the middle between a 10K and a half marathon is the 5th Annual Reno 10-Miler. This 10-mile run is perfect for those training for a half marathon, or those who want to run a shorter distance in teams! Start your August off with this run through local landmarks and historic parts of Reno.
On September 10th, be a part of Reno’s oldest footrace, the Oldest Run in Reno 49th Annual Journal Jog! It is a family friendly 8K run and walk along the Truckee River that is perfect for everyone. Even with all the new runs happening all year, make sure the oldest one is on your list!
