Guide to Christmas Dining 2015
One thing you can be sure of during the holiday season is that you won’t run out of feasting options. Filled with comfort foods and a variety of sweet treats, the time between Thanksgiving and the new year is all about indulging. If you are thinking about dining out for Christmas, here are some specials around the area.
Three course holiday dinners are available at Purple Parrot and Manhattan Deli starting at 11 a.m. Savor roasted corn chowder with sugar glazed ham at Manhattan Deli or roasted root vegetable bisque and grilled lamb chops at Purple Parrot. Add another level with four course meals at Atlantis Steakhouse and Bistro Napa starting at 4 p.m. Try serrano wrapped ahi tuna and crab crusted Chilean sea bass at the steakhouse or chestnut bisque and espresso crusted New York steak at Bistro Napa. From 11 a.m. – 5 p.m. enjoy items such as roasted turkey, Dungeness crab and Maine lobster bisque at the Grand Ballroom Gourmet Dinner. Another buffet option is Toucan Charlie’s with champagne brunch starting at 9 a.m. and dinner served at 3 p.m. The menu includes prime rib, lobster Newburg and roast duck with plum sauce.
The Steakhouse is serving up a specialty three-course meal starting at 5 p.m. Start the amazing meal with either a specialty salad with prosciutto and grilled Black Mission figs or the butternut squash soup with sage and fontina cheese croutons. Entree choices include aged standing rib roast with sage jus, Muscovy duck with sellerie puree, and more. The Courtyard Buffet is getting festive with such items as roasted turkey and fig and orange jam-glazed ham and cherry wood smoked brisket along with some unconventional options like pizza and tacos. Save room for the chocolate fountain! A three-course meal will be available at the Americana Café on both Christmas Eve and day. Start with your choice of creamy onion soup and gruyere cheese or a house salad with butternut squash and cranberries. The second plate is roasted turkey served with complementing side dishes. Dessert includes homemade pumpkin pie or home-baked apple pie. Both the Courtyard Buffet and Americana Cafe open at 11 a.m.
Feast on limitless options at The Rotisserie Buffet and Nugget Ballroom buffets. Entrées include roasted turkey, mustard-glazed Virginia ham, prime rib of beef and more. Start your meal with options like jumbo peel-and-eat shrimp, smoked salmon and a fresh build-your-own salad bar. Pies, cakes and fruit tarts are abundant at the dessert station. The Rotisserie Buffet will be serving from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., while the Nugget Ballroom buffet runs from Noon to 7 p.m. Pick from 3 three-course meals! The Steakhouse’s dinner begins with cream of smoked duck soup. For your entrée, choose free-range roast turkey or slow-roasted prime of beef. Dessert will be strawberry rhubarb panna cotta tart with port caramel. Gilley’s Saloon, Dance Hall & Bar-B-Que will have soup or salad, smoked roasted turkey or honey-glazed BBQ ham and pumpkin or apple pie. The Steakhouse and Gilley’s will open at 3 p.m. on Christmas Day. Rosie’s Café will serve soup or salad, roast turkey, Virginia-baked ham or salmon Wellington and pumpkin or apple pie. The regular menu will also be available. The special holiday menu will be offered from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. and their regular menu is still served 24 hours.
Two Christmas buffets will be available with all of your holiday favorites. Island Buffet is open at 9 a.m. with flavors from around the world including Chile cheese tamales and Asian Wok wonders. This menu is available on Christmas Eve as well. Biscotti’s will have a Christmas Buffet Extravaganza starting at 11 a.m. with delicious seafood options, roasted prime rib and golden turkey breast. Both close at 9 p.m. Café Milano will be serving up a prix fixe meal with prime rib and a savory eggnog cheesecake from 11 a.m. – 11 p.m. Try Bimini Steakhouse’s wine pairings including a spice ribbed New York strip roast with 2013 Justin Cabernet for your fine dining option. Oceano is giving the option of either Maine dayboat scallops or pan roasted filet mignon with a festive orange cranberry torte for dessert. Both Bimini and Oceano are open from 3 – 9:30 p.m.
You can find both casual and fine dining options for Christmas dinner. Pancho & Willies has the choice of blackened beef strip loin or a seafood trio of salmon, Alaskan king crab and shrimp scampi from 3:30 – 10 p.m. The Western Village Steakhouse will be doing wine pairings from 4:30 – 9 p.m. Choose from their rosemary-pepper beef rib roast paired with a 2014 Mollydooker Shiraz or seafood pan roast with a 2013 Trefethen Chardonnay.
