MUSIC: Reno is becoming known as the year round mecca for visual, musical and performance art. Off Beat is the first time that all of this will be represented in a genre-blurring mash up of local musicians of every style. An assemblage of indie label artists, future household names, sleepers, national touring acts and some of the industries brightest young stars that are all ready to deliver everything they’ve got to dominate the stage and your attention. 90 bands, DJs and songwriters, performing at 13 different venues simultaneously around Reno. This pristine line up will continue through Sunday at these participating, equally stellar, establishments:
3rd Street Bar
Singer Social Club
The Loving Cup
Holland Project Reno
Morris Burner Hotel
Studio on Fourth
Jub Jubs Thirst Parlor
Ticketing Information: Individual shows ask for a cover charge of $10 for show at each venue. If you would like to attend more than one show you will have to pay the $10 cover charge at each show. It is recommended to purchase the General Admission wristband to have access to more than 90 shows and receive preferred admission. This wristband is offered for $39 and includes access to all venues except Cargo. To include Cargo in your access list, Off Beat is offering the All Access pass for $81. The jump in price is due to the various prices for various shows each night at Cargo that are definitely worth your time.
ART: As you venture deep into the music scene of Reno, keep in mind the art represented throughout the city as well. The art here is not limited to the walls of a gallery. Murals tell stories on the building facades that otherwise might be mute. The extensive public art collections are housed in elaborately funky buildings scattered around the city. How and where the art is displayed is art in itself. The galleries and alternative arts venues representing the emerging artists in Off Beat are truly rebranding Reno as a must-see arts destination. Here is a list of participating venues representing can’t miss artists:
Eye Candy Salon
5 Star Saloon
Sierra Arts Foundation
Hub Coffee Roasters
McKinley Arts & Culture Center
Liberty Fine Arts Gallery
Great Full Gardens
Midtown Community Yoga
Neverender Boutique Yoga
Blue Whale Coffee Company
Lasting Dose Gallery
Happy Happy Joy Joy
