Earth Day in Reno Tahoe
Earth Day is next week; a day designed for people to show appreciation for our planet Earth… and Reno Tahoe sure has a lot to be appreciative for. Our area is home to some of the most breathtaking views on the West Coast. Here are some Earth Day events to check out and photos to show our love and appreciation for the Sierra Nevada region.
Tahoe-Truckee Earth Day
Celebrate our region’s unique beauty on April 16 at The Tahoe Truckee Earth Day Festival, a non-profit, volunteer ran event aimed to educate the public to preserve and protect our local and global natural resources. This event is from 11am – 5pm at Squaw Valley Alpine Meadows and is free to the public.
Reno Earth Day 2016
Join the Reno Earth Day celebration in Reno’s Idlewild Park on April 24. There will be 39 acres of engaging activities, stages of live music and entertainment, over 9 themed areas, educational workshops, arts and crafts, contests with prizes, and a unique exhibitor experience. This event is from 11am – 6pm and is free to the public.
Galena Creek Recreation Area sits between Reno and Lake Tahoe and is a seriously awesome spot to explore. There are 15 different trail systems in the area along with endless backpacking opportunities in the Mt. Rose Wilderness Area. #TravelNevada : @itschristianrees #DontFenceMeIn #DFMI #RenoTahoe #RenoLens #GalenaCreek #GalenaCreekRecreationArea #Tahoe #LakeTahoe #MtRoseWilderness #Nevada #NV
