Celebrate Reno Tahoe’s Motorcycle Roots with the Best Routes
This September will mark the 23rd year of Street Vibrations as an annual celebration of Reno’s deep motorcycle roots. While September may seem distant, the eighth annual Street Vibrations Spring Rally is just around the corner. The event will take place June 3-5 and in celebration of the Street Vibrations Spring Rally as the perfect kick-off to summer, here are some of the must-see motorcycle routes around town. Surrounded by natural beauty, it’s no surprise that Reno Tahoe has breathtaking routes to journey along! Whether you’re desiring a quick trip around town, or a half-day getaway, we think there is something for everyone.
Reno, Virginia City, Carson City Loop
This approximately 50-mile trip will take you from the foothills of Geiger Grade, up to Virginia City, and back down through Carson City and beautiful Washoe Valley. The twists and turns of the journey up to Virginia City make for some breathtaking panoramic views. The ride through Virginia City, home of the Grand Prix Motorcycle Race, makes for the perfect stop to grab a bite to eat or do some exploring before heading back down to Carson City and through peaceful and pastured Washoe Valley.

Mt. Rose Highway
For those desiring a shorter, but no less amazing ride, take a journey from the base of Mt. Rose Highway in Reno to Incline Village, or vice versa. This trip is approximately 25 miles one-way, and takes riders through the twists and turns of Mt. Rose Highway, with the highest elevation being 8,900 feet above sea level. If you’re seeking a longer ride, make this trip a loop by traveling through King’s Beach and Truckee!

What better way to see the Reno Sparks area than taking a ride around McCarran? Riders will travel through retail and residential areas, as well as the university area and the outskirts of Victorian Avenue in Sparks. Hop on your motorcycle and begin this trip on any part of McCarran for a complete loop totaling approximately 30 miles.
