Adding to Downtown Reno’s Retail Scene
The Reno Sparks area has been making big strides toward improving vacant or less than ideal spots. With new apartment complexes popping up and updates to long-standing buildings, there always seems to be something new to check out. One of the more recent renovations is found at the historic post office building located at 50 S. Virginia St. It was built in 1934 and is listed in the National Register of Historic Places. Not wanting to lose this Reno gem, a group known as 50 S. Virginia, LLC has been revitalizing the building with retail and meeting space. Although not all of the 14 retailers are open for business yet, shoppers are welcome to explore those that have opened their doors in the space known as The Basement. Here are a few of the shops you can expect to see:
Promoted as a “gentlemen’s barber shop,” Beautiful Bearded Man specializes in traditional techniques for quality cuts and shaves. In addition to providing in-house service, owner Josh Arias also has a mobile barber shop. Book him for your wedding and give the groom the pampering he deserves.
This new, pressed juice bar encourages you to “steal back your health.” Using local, raw ingredients, RAWBRY gives you a healthy option to help fuel your day while still tasting amazingly delicious. If you are looking to do a body cleanse, these are the people you want to help you out.
Chocolate lovers unite! This new, local chocolate shop is the perfect spot to find a sweet gift or indulge in sugary heaven. Not only is each piece beautifully designed, they offer a variety of flavors including Himalayan Pink Salted Caramel, Roasted Pecan Gianduja and Mojito.
Having a chocolate shop and flower bar in the same spot sounds good to us! Find beautiful flower arrangements along with special gifts to send for a variety of occasions as well as traditional and tropical plants. Planning a wedding? They’ll work with you to create that perfect floral arrangement for the big day.
